Episode 34: How To Use Your Cycle To Avoid Burnout (No Really!)

Game On Girlfriend Ep34 Title Graphic

Do you want to know how to use your cycle to avoid burnout?

Did you know that women are more wired for burnout than men are? Eeek. What a thing to say, right?

But it’s true. And, a lot of that has to do with the fact that we’re living inside of a paradigm of activity, structure, timing, and competition, that was created by men. We didn’t really have much of a say when all of this was designed, but we’re expected to live in it as if we did.

But there’s some really great news here, too. It’s actually possible for us to live and breathe and work in a way that has us use the power of our cycles, yep – those cycles, the power of our bodies and to work with the flow of our internal wisdom, instead of against it.

I remember being really young when my grandmother would talk about being a woman and how sad it made her when other women would talk about our cycles as a “curse” or that it makes them “act crazy”.

That really struck me then, and I think it’s shaped my affinity for other women and our shared ups and downs throughout my entire life.

I’d love for us all to talk about womanhood as an empowering asset. And, that our feelings throughout the month are a guidepost. They carry wisdom and insight and power.

I love being a woman like absolutely love it. And so does this week’s guest, Dorit Palvanov.

Dorit is a thought leader in women’s bodies and female leadership. She knows it’s her life’s work to teach women about the wisdom of the female body, and the power within it.

She has her own popular podcast for women called Confident, Energized, and Sexy Mama where she explores the complexities of being a wife and mother while growing individually as a woman.

She has this reverent way about her that I think you’re going to really enjoy. Also, Dorit inspires a global community of women to embrace their feminine essence and evolve how they live, love, work, play, and parent because of it.

Her clients often say that working with her feels like taking a course on ‘how to be a woman.’

In our conversation together, we covered a lot of ground and had a great time doing it.

I think you’re really going to enjoy learning about our periods of productivity as women and how we can use that to help us navigate our easy tendency to burnout.

In conclusion, given what we’ve all been going through this year, this is super helpful to know. And I personally love Dorit’s view of femininity, the power we have and I really stand behind her mission of reminding us to uncover and use the power and wisdom of our bodies.
