Episode 114: I Have So Much to Give, But I’m in a Fog

Game On Girlfriend Episode 114: I Have So Much to Give, But I’m in a Fog

In this week’s live coaching session, we’re sitting down with singer-songwriter Robin Renée.

This was such a tender and vulnerable session, and I really want to acknowledge Robin for her generosity in sitting down with me and being this honest.

Chances are you’ll hear a little bit of yourself in this episode, especially if you’ve ever felt a deeply personal ache to give and have an impact.
In this episode, Robin and I work through how they’ve cut off their access to self-expression. And when that happens to any of us, it can knock us off course.
You can hear the pain in Robin’s voice, especially when it comes to mourning what’s been lost and a feeling of being stuck in a fog, instead of using their talents to make an impact.

This episode is part 2 of a 3-part series of live coaching sessions filmed right here in my home.

Robin was part of my membership for two years. They co-host a podcast called “The Leftscape,” which they’re looking to grow, and Robin is also working to reconnect with their creative songwriting side.
What Robin brings to the world is a deep desire to have a profound impact through their art and use it to connect with others.
In this coaching session, we look at how some emotions Robin doesn’t want to process are keeping them in a fog and leaving them unable to start projects and reach the level of success they desire.
We talk through the need for Robin to trust they can do the work and own their space, as well as trusting others to help elevate their voice.
What I really hope you take away from this episode is that we don’t have to be afraid of our emotions or be afraid to experience them, as uncomfortable as they can be.
Once we take the time to look at our emotions directly, we can move through them. It’s only when we try to run from them that things get super tough.
And I pushed Robin pretty hard about “not knowing what to do next.” I hear that a lot with my clients, and I absolutely understand that it can feel like you don’t know what to do next … but with the access we all have to information right now, it’s just not an excuse for any of us anymore.
GTS, baby! (Google that sh*t)
Watch YouTube videos about it
Read stories of other people who’ve been successful at what you want to do
And Robin was such a great sport when I talked about this! I love the look they gave me when I said, “Yeah, you do. You know what to do next, you just might not want to do it.”
Maybe you can relate (she typed with love).
Listen, feeling stuck is one of the worst things you can feel. The antidote is always action. Most of the time, it won’t be perfect action, but the action alone will help you move through the sorrow and the ache that comes with feeling stuck.
Again, a huge thank you to Robin for being so open and honest. It’s truly a gift to the rest of us.
If you’ve been feeling stuck, pop in those earphones, and let’s get to it.
