Episode 123: Women, Money & Roe V Wade
Well, this is an episode I never thought I’d be recording. And honestly, I'm scared to be doing it.
I know you guys turn to me for business advice, sales training, and personal development.
But you guys, we have to talk about this. It's just too important. And I understand if this makes you weary, or makes you question why I'm doing this, but I hope I’ve earned your trust to the point that you’ll just listen and explore what I'm sharing.
As a woman who's made it my life’s work to “put more money in the hands of more women”, I have to say something when I see policies, laws, or behavior that will make sure money is taken out of the hands of women.
I have to do this episode because forcing women to have babies that they don't want to have is certainly one way to ensure women have less money in their hands.
So, whether you and I see eye to eye on this specific issue or not, know you're welcome in my space. I’m here for all women who want to use their talents, experience, and expertise to make the world a better place.
The other reason I decided to talk about this in this episode (even though I had a whole other podcast planned for this week) is because I want to remind all of us that our voices matter.
Women have been outsourcing our wisdom for far too long. This is why I’m an intuitive business coach, I want to teach you how to trust your own instincts. You don’t need anyone else to tell you how to live your life.
We're really smart. We know what's best for us, we know how we want to live, who we want to work with, and how we want to make money.
Women are brilliant with money. We plan for sales, we plan for vacations, mortgages, getaways, and retirement. The idea that we can't make our own decisions about life, money, marriage, career, business or when we have more children, is insane.
Please don't wait for permission to start living life on your terms, and don't ever doubt that you can do it. You absolutely can.
The idea that we “don’t really understand” what we're doing, or that we need someone outside of ourselves to tell us what's OK for us and what isn’t is absolutely false. And I truly believe that is what this entire issue is truly about.
Do we trust women to know what's best, or do we need men to step in and tell us what to do?
Honestly. That’s at the heart of this. A very tough and tender issue is being used to manipulate the truth of that, but it still remains the truth.
We’re fighting for the right to be trusted with our own lives.
As we go through these really strange, and honestly dark, times, remember that when even one woman doesn’t feel safe, none of us can feel safe.
Now is the time to be together, to listen, to stand shoulder to shoulder with other women, and trust each other to make the best decisions for ourselves.
Know that I love you, know that there is work to do here, and know that I believe we’re capable of getting it done.
Pop in those earphones, and let’s get to it.
