Episode 97: How to Be a Credible Change-Maker

Game On Girlfriend Title Graphic Episode 97

So, you may have noticed that there’s quite a bit of change going on in the world right now …

I mean, wow! We have the “Great Resignation” — 4.3 million people resigned from their jobs in September of 2021— and we know social change is a must.

It’s time for organizations, nonprofits, and corporations to catch up. And that means change from the inside out.

Because of all this, I’m thrilled to announce this week’s guest on The Game On Girlfriend Podcast, Nancy Murphy.

Nancy has made a career out of saying what others are afraid to — and learning how to say it in ways that get others to listen.

She’s the founder and president of CSR Communications and creator of Intrapreneurs Influence Lab.

Her passion is helping leaders of change within established organizations (intrapreneurs) influence and persuade others so they can realize their vision for change faster, with less frustration and resistance.

You’ll hear a lot of this during our conversation, and pay particular attention to the resistance to change she talks about. I loved her description of “yes/no” people and how “artifacts” — old established habits and processes — can erode trust and block meaningful change from happening.

It’s so cool and so important right now.

Nancy has worked in philanthropy for Steve and Jean Case’s family foundation, as a federal government program officer with the Corporation for National & Community Service, and as a global consultant for APCO Worldwide, where she designed and implemented sustainability, community engagement and philanthropic strategies for companies such as UPS and Johnson Controls, and nonprofit organizations including W.K. Kellogg Foundation and Annie E. Casey Foundation. Nancy mentors and advises executives from local governments, federal agencies, global nonprofits, foundations, and Fortune 100 companies.

As a trainer and speaker, Nancy has shared her expertise from Kuala Lumpur to Kansas City and London to Las Vegas.

Hopefully by now, you’re seeing why I’m so excited to have her on the podcast.

If you’ve been searching for change and you’re ready to be a part of meaningful change, you’ll want to pop in those earphones and listen in.
