Episode 65: 3 Things to Ask Yourself as Our World Opens Back Up
So it’s starting to happen. Our world is opening up, almost all the way, from our global pandemic and lockdown.
The Great Gaslighting has begun. If you have no idea what I’m talking about when I say that, you can check out Episode #16 of the podcast from last April.
And this Great Gaslighting (sorry, there is just truly no better name for it than that), will make you feel crazy. It will make you feel like you didn’t really experience what you just experienced.
You weren’t really one of the many “shock-absorbers” out there, sacrificing everything to make sure your family, friends, work and community were OK.
You didn’t freak out every time you had to go to the grocery store.
Or didn’t enjoy all that extra time with your family. You didn’t enjoy the “great pause.” You hated it. It was wrong.
You should start participating in everything again. You should sign up for everything available and attend every event. And you should travel right now. Why aren’t you traveling yet?
Ah, the good times. 🙂
But we really did just go through a time of shared loss. We lost our innocence, and our ability to hug. The illusion that the world will just keep going like it always has. We know now that’s just not true.
March 12, 2020, was one way, and March 13, 2020, was a whole new way. And that “new” way hung around for almost a year.
It was real. It happened.
And now you get to decide what you want to keep, what you want to let go of, and you actually get to reflect on what you learned during this time.
In this episode, I’ll cover 3 things you can reflect on as our world opens up and as we close out the “Great Pause”:
1: What do you want to keep from this time?
2: What do you want to let go of?
3: What have you learned?
I know you know this, but I’m going to remind you anyway.
This was extraordinary. It’s as magical and scary and peaceful and violent. You will never have another 12 months like the 12 months we just lived through.
So, what will you do with that, and how will you allow that to change who you are? How do you want to shape your life as our world opens up, now that you know what you know?
Because, my beautiful Girlfriend, the Game is STILL on.
