Episode 102: Tired of Failing? Learn How to Win the Day
Ugh. I just can’t do it anymore. It’s too hard. It’s too big. I’m just not like anyone else.
Have you ever heard yourself saying crazy things like this? (And yes, don’t even try to argue with me — they really are crazy.)
Heaven knows I’ve been there. If we’re really honest, we’ve all been there. And that’s why I wanted to bring you this interview on the podcast with Mary Ellen Loranger.
Why? Well, first of all, she’s really cool. But secondly, this is a woman who took her bad attitude and victim mentality and turned it all around. Like, for real.
Mary Ellen truly believes that in order to win big, you have to start with the small things.
Women can sometimes become overwhelmed with creating the life they desire, so it’s important to achieve and then acknowledge our small daily wins. It’s just too easy to shrug them off or make it seem like they’re not really a big deal.
As you’ll hear in this episode, Mary Ellen walks (and sometimes even runs!) that talk. It’s all about one foot in front of the other, over and over again, until you have what you want.
I loved how honest and open she was with me during the interview. We covered some tough topics, including her divorce, how much she used to complain and feel like a victim, and an accident she had during one of her five (yes, FIVE!) Ironman competitions.
This was one of those episodes where I really felt the impact the guest’s words could have on people. This a real woman telling real truths about how she went from rock bottom to the top of her game.
Listen in for her moments after that accident during the competition. I think that was one of my favorites. The will of this woman — wow.
Oh! And if you want to get in on Mary Ellen’s super generous offer to snag one of her books, all you have to do is take a selfie of yourself listening in and post it to social media and tag us using the hashtag #GameOnGirlfiend and the handles @thesarahwalton and @wintodaywithme.
If you’re tired of feeling stuck and just going through the motions of life without passion or purpose, this is a podcast you’ll want to listen to.
