Episode 29: Stop Attaching Meaning Where It Doesn’t Belong
Today I want to talk to you about attaching meaning where it doesn’t belong.
If you have no idea what I’m talking about, it might be because you’re not aware of the fact that you’re attaching meaning to absolutely everything that happens all day long, every day.
Yep, you.
And this is dictating how you see the world!
We don’t realize it, but we’re selective about what we attach meaning to, and what we don’t, based on what we know about the world, what our views are, and our past experiences.
And in this episode, it’s my intention to help you see where you may be attaching meaning to things that are zapping your energy, making you feel sluggish and tired, and even stealing your joy.
All because you’re choosing to attach meaning where it doesn’t belong.
fOnce you get the hang of this, I’m telling you, it can be incredibly liberating. It can free you up from negative self-talk, from sabotaging relationships. It can get you out of writers-block, inertia, and that “blech” feeling so many people have been experiencing lately.
If you listen to this while you’re walking or working out, enjoy! It can be super effective to hear this while you’re using both sides of your body (meaning right step, left step, etc), as that causes both sides of your brain to fire while you listen. That can really help it stick.

This was probably the most meaningful of all your podcasts – to me personally. You always know just what to say. Universal truths, Sarah Walton style!
Thank you, Sarah. Very powerful.
Oh Cathy that’s wonderful! It’s so great when something really hits home, right? And learning how to decide how we interpret situations and events is so powerful. 🙂
I have a feeling this is a message that people will love learning from you in your work! So great.
Sending you lots of love. xo
